Design Dogs



Lenny the mid century modern pooch

Since adopting Lenny is January he has been one pampered little chap.  Since we got him from the rescue centre in Bristol we sort of feel like we're allowed to spoil him a bit more than usual, he was a stray when they found him so I like to think that we're making up for lost time. 

Even though I like to think he was a scallywag mutt (in a cartoonish way)  he seems to have become  accustomed to his creature comforts very quickly. If he wakes up and sees that its raining he crawls back under the duvet so I was looking for a little waterproof coat for him and I found a whole wealth of amazingly designed dog goodies,.Most of them are way out of my price range- I'm not sure how I would feel about spending more on a dog bed than my own bed but hey a girl can dream.

This utterly brilliant dog bed also doubles up as a mid century influenced cabinet ,amazing huh?






I'm not sure how necessary a fleecy dog vest is but this dog makes my heart sing

Eksell Inspiration




I became a fan of  the Swedish designer Olle Eksell about 2 years ago when Noel bought me a book about him for Christmas, his work remains very influential today decades after his heyday in the 1960's as you can see by this new American Apparel print.

I've fallen pretty hard for those gold chelsea boots, I've managed to convince myself that those Ziggy Stardust-esque boots WILL be practical for rainy England and that they WILL go with everything. My love for these boots has inspired me to pick a whole collection of 10 lovely other gold things. I want them all.

Lovely Lobsters

Do you ever notice themes emerging on your Pinterest boards or in your house or wardrobe? I recently noticed that without realising it I seem to be very drawn to lobster themed things. 

Maybe its because they are such a bold and graphic shape or maybe its because of their connection to artists and eccentrics; just think of Dali's lobster phone, Isabella Blow in a lobster hat or the writer GĂ©rard de Nerval strolling round Paris with his pet lobster. Or maybe its because I'm hungry and I want to eat Lobster. 

Either way here are some lovely lobster themed things.
