Pink Lemonade Recipe

All photos by Noel Deasington , Lemonade tumbler from iota bristol

If you like me spend most of the summer sat in the shade, drinking cold drinks and remaining very still then this is a recipe for you. It's addictive in hot weather and really easy to make. It's also a good way to make the most of summer's raspberries.

Ingredients

2 x Lemons ( sliced )
1x Orange ( sliced )
350ml ( ish ) cold water
300g caster sugar
2 or 3 punnets of Raspberries

  • Put all your ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to the boil, boil for 5 minutes.
  • Leave to cool
  • Once cool pour through a sieve making sure you squish the contents of the sieve to make sure you get all the fruity goodness out and it ( a metal spoon is ideal for squishing).
  • Pour into the sieved lemonade into a bottle and keep in the fridge. It should keep for about a week.
  • Drink the lemonade diluted with water, it tastes especially nice with sparkling water
Optional Garnishes

Ice cubes
Fresh Raspberries
Lemon Slices
Mint
Gin

The last garnish may be controversial but a little tot of this in a G&T tastes really lovely.

Homemade drinks like this are always a really welcome gift, I made an extra bottle as a thank you gift and made a little lemon label to go with it.
